Who We Are

An initiative of HIMU Educational and Welfare Society — moulding students to be intellectually enlightened, socially committed, emotionally balanced and morally upright nurses.

About the Institute

Health is a state of well-being that enables a person to lead a psychologically, socially and economically productive life. Health is a right of all people — individuals, families and communities have a responsibility towards maintaining their health.

Nurses and midwives are the largest workforce in the health care industry and play a vital role in providing quality care in institutions, at home and in the community. The Government of West Bengal has taken many initiatives, and one of the most important is the Public Private Partnership model to meet the present day crisis.

Royal Institute of Nursing and Medical Sciences is an initiative of HIMU Educational and Welfare Society to promote quality education by delivering high standard nursing courses to aspiring students to build their promising future in nursing. The institute aims at moulding students to be intellectually enlightened, socially committed, emotionally balanced and morally upright nurses.

Our Philosophy

The beliefs that guide every course, every faculty member and every student at the Institute.

1

We believe that nursing education is one of the most indispensable education domains in society.

2

We recognize that with sound scientific knowledge and delicate artistic skill of nursing, we are able to serve our community best — across curative, preventive, promotive and restorative aspects of health.

3

We accept that nursing is a noble and dedicated profession that faces tremendous challenges in today’s society.

4

We recognize that with continuous learning, training and research work, nursing grows rapidly and meets the demands of the dynamic process of nursing and medical education.

5

We believe that faculties are responsible for inculcating professional ethics in students, so they become responsible members of society.

6

We recognize that the nature of nursing is such that a substantial portion of learning is acquired in the clinical field and community settings.

7

We recognize the interdependence of nursing with medical and allied professions and occupations in promoting, maintaining and restoring the health of the people.

8

We believe that on completion of training, a student will become not only a good, responsible citizen but also a good human being.
